First round: CHICAGO -- Brian Cardinal scored 16 points to pace five players in double figures as two seed Purdue scored the game's first 18 points and demolished No. 15 seed Deleware 95-56 in a Midwest Region first-round game at the United Center.
Mike Robinson scored 15 points and Brad Miller added 12 for Purdue (27-7), which claimed the school's biggest NCAA Tournament victory. The Boilermakers had 27-point victories on two prior occasions. They defeated Memphis, 100-73, in the second round in 1988 and topped North Carolina, 92-65, in the 1969 National Semifinals.
