First round: WASHINGTON -- Fairleigh Dickinson decided to take a gamble and get into a running match with Connecticut.
It made for great entertainment, even if UConn ran the Knights right out of
the NCAA tournament -- despite a 43-point performance by Elijah Allen.
Richard Hamilton and Khalid El-Amin each scored 30 points as second-seeded
Connecticut held off the fearless 15th-seeded Knights and advanced to the
second round with a 93-85 victory Thursday night.
