Second round: ATLANTA -- Written off before they even got here, UCLA's seniors aren't finished quite yet.
Coming off the worst game of his career, senior Kris Johnson sank eight
straight free throws over the final 37 seconds Sunday to help the sixth-seeded
Bruins (24-8) hold off Michigan for an 85-82 win in the second round of the
South Regional.
First round: ATLANTA -- The Michigan players shaved their heads in an attempt to recapture the aura of the "Fab Five." So far, it's working.
The Wolverines won their first NCAA tournament game since 1994, getting 20
points from Louis Bullock and defeating Davidson 80-61 Friday night in the
opening round of the South Regional.
Third-seeded Michigan (25-8) raced to a double-figure lead in the first five
minutes and Davidson (20-10) never got closer than nine. It wasn't an overly
impressive performance by the Wolverines coming off their victory in the
inaugural Big Ten tournament, but it was easily enough against the Wildcats..
