Second round: CHICAGO -- Stanford's size and a game-swaying technical foul that became a seven-point possession helped the Cardinal win a trip back to the NCAA
tournament's round of 16.
Arthur Lee scored 24 points and Stanford had a 41-25 rebounding edge Sunday
to overcome Western Michigan's quickness and beat the Broncos 83-65 in the
Midwest Regional.
Jason Kimbrough led Western Michigan (21-8), the No. 11 seed, with 17 points
and Saddi Washington had 16.
First round: CHICAGO -- Rashod Johnson made eight 3-pointers, converting one into a go-ahead four-point play with 1:31 left, as Western Michigan blew a big lead before regrouping to beat Clemson 75-72 Friday in the Midwest Regional.
Johnson tied the region record with his eight 3s and finished with 32 points
as Western (21-7), seeded 11th, made its first appearance in the NCAA
tournament since 1976 a memorable one.
Clemson (18-14), the sixth seed, rallied from 16 points behind in the
second half to take a lead but couldn't take control of the game.
