captain Cammi Granato (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Canada's Lori Dupuis each put in two power play goals, and U.S. forward Laurie Baker (Concord, Mass..) scored twice at even strength as the teams got a dry run of their gold medal match-up next week.

The newest member of the U.S. team, Jennifer Schmidgall (Edina, Minn.) , pushed a power play rebound through the pads of Canada goalie Lesley Reddon to tie the score 4-4 at 12:25 of the third.

Thirteen seconds later, Dunn shot in the rebound of Angela Ruggiero's floating slapshot to put the United States ahead for good. Lisa Brown-Miller scored another with three minutes left and Baker shot into the empty Canada net with 1:02 remaining.

DUPUIS PUT CANADA ON board three minutes into the game, firing a clean shot past U.S. goalie Sara DeCosta (Warwick, R.I.) as her teammates changed lines on a power play and the U.S. team let down its guard. Granato tied it near the end of the period on another power play rebound.

It took until early in the third for Dupuis to break that tie with still another power play rebound. Jayna Hefford and Therese Brisson added two more power play goals in the next five minutes to go ahead 4-1.

But Baker started the United States on a scoring run with her first goal at 7:05. Granato added another seconds before Schmidgall's tying goal.

Canada has beaten the United States to win all four Women's World Championships since 1990. This is the first time women's hockey has been played in the Olympics.

Canada's Fiona Smith and Karen Nystrom watched from the sidelines. Coach Shannon Miller had said she might rest the pair because they have injuries, but wouldn't say what was wrong.
