Bill Walton By Allyson Turner Bill Walton, one of the finest centers ever to play the game, began his basketball career by helping lead UCLA to national championships in 1972 and 1973 and still holds NCAA tournament records for highest field-goal percentage in one year and in a career. Walton then moved on to the NBA where he won the NBA title with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1977 and the Boston Celtics in 1986. He won the league's MVP award in 1978 with Portland and the NBA's Sixth Man Award in 1986 with the Celtics. He currently works as an NBA analyst for NBC.
