Greg Gumbel By Allyson Turner Gumbel returns to CBS Sports where he will serve as a host and play-by-play announcer for the network's lead NFL announce team. Gumbel worked for CBS from October 1989 through May 1994. He hosted The NFL Today -- the network’s pre-game, halftime and post-game NFL program -- from 1990 to 1993. In addition, he served as prime time anchor of CBS Sports’ coverage of the 1994 Olympic Winter Games and as co-anchor for the network’s weekday morning broadcasts of the 1992 Olympic Winter Games. His other host roles have included Major League Baseball and college football broadcasts for CBS Sports.
