Problem with Bulls is that they're Jerry-rigged

E-mails over cocktails ... while wondering if Chicago Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf is able to memorize his entire list of friends, or does he keep all their names written on the back of a match book?

First shot

"OPEN THE DOOR, toss ol' Jerry down the stairs, lock the door and toss away the key."

Buckshot: You didn't mention steal his money. Texkan, you're slipping.

Second shot

"THANKS, I ENJOYED the article. Jerry Reinsdorf doesn't deserve to have Jordan."

Third shot

"I HAVE TO SAY that the whole Latrell Sprewell/NBA incident has turned me against professional basketball in such a way that I have never experienced before. Sprewell is the most audacious, idiotic and unintelligent punk (and I mean that with a capital P) that I have ever seen in professional sports. The day he was reinstated to the NBA is the last NBA game I will ever watch.

"The NBA is as much to blame as should-be convict Sprewell. Why? Because they went along with the arbitrations rather than trying to keep criminals out of the game. Sprewell is a violent twit that will get away with this because no one in the NBA or our judicial system will have the balls to stand up and say:

'Shut up Sprewell. You ought to be in prison for attempted murder.' "

Buckshot: Like too many pro athletes today, Sprewell thinks he can get away with murder -- attempted or otherwise.

Fourth shot

"AMEN TO RAY. Not only should Reinsdorf be thrown in the Whine Cellar, he should be put on a torture rack! He'll REALLY be whining when Michael finally does leave and he's trying to fill all those seats in the United Center. I hope the Bulls have enough left in the tank for one more championship run. That's the best way for them to stick it to Jerry."

Buckshot: The Bulls, already down 0-1 to Utah after Wednesday night's OT loss, might end an era on a losing note. Drag. Oh, well, party's at Reinsdorf's house!!!!

Fifth shot

"THE TWO JERRYS, or should I say the two losers, have been the Bulls' worst enemy in the past years, more so than any opponent. Most of the Bulls players do not like the Bulls management, especially Jerry Krause. Who could like the fat slob who shows a total lack of loyalty and commitment to his players and on top of that makes the worst decisions in history?

"For example, letting Jason Caffey go, bad draft picks in past years, letting Horace Grant slip away. Now Pippen is set on leaving. I hope when Jordan and Pippen leave and the Bulls start losing, no one goes to the games. Reinsdorf, can't you see having a winning team will make you more money in the long run than a losing one?"

Buckshot: What's with that name in sports management anyway? It's pretty bad when you write down three names and Jerry Jones is the best of the group.

Sixth shot

"I COULDN'T AGREE more with you. I am a diehard White Sox and Bulls fan, and it kills me to see what's happening to them. Did you know the Sox have the second-best record in the '90s behind the Braves? Now look where they are at. Reinsdorf used to be the most powerful man in sports. Now he's just a patsy.

"Instead of trying to make his teams better, he is dismantling them for a profit. It's truly heartbreaking to see this dynasty end like this."

Buckshot: Check out the Florida Marlins, Turk. Team owners should be forced to give season ticket-holders some kind of a warranty, the way Sears does with a set of tires.
