Orlando, Florida, November 1, 1995 - Arnold Palmer announced today that his Arnold Palmer Golf Management Company was selected by the University of Wisconsin - Madison to manage the nationally known University Ridge Golf Course effective January 16 , 1996.
The selection of the company headed by golfing legend Arnold Palmer capped a rigorous process in which the University of Wisconsin - Madison placed great emphasis on high-quality golf course management; providing access to a wide array of players, incl uding students, alunmi, children and seniors; and preserving the rich cultural and environmental resources of the golf course and grounds.
With its reputation as one of the 10 best university golf courses in the country, University Ridge Golf Course provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Under the terms of the agreement Palmer Golf will implement its nationally recognized quality , customer service, community relations and environmental sustainability programs.
According to Palmer Golf President Peter Nanula, "Golf course playing conditions will reflect the high standards established by Arnold Palmer. Palmer Golf s 'Country Club for a Day' customer service standards will result in the University Ridge Golf Cour se constantly exceeding customers' expectations of what a golfing experience should be. This contract with the University of Wisconsin represents a major step in bringing Pahner quality to public golf in the upper mid-west," said Mr. Nanula.
