Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I choose the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy over other golf schools?
A:With 92 tour wins confirming his legendary love of the game, Arnold Palmer continues to promote the
fundamentals and traditions of golf through the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy. Arnold Palmer was taught by
his father, that if you can stick to basic fundamentals and have a good attitude, you will give yourself the
best chance to play great golf. What makes the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy different is that we use these
basic principles to teach Mr. Palmer's proven techniques. Instructors personally approved by Mr. Palmer
work with your natural ability to develop rather than force a technique or style that remakes your
game.
Q: What qualifications do your instructors have?
A:All of the instructor’s are personally approved by Mr. Palmer and are members of the PGA of America.
They have been certified to teach the Palmer philosophy, and are required to pass an annual re-certification
in order to keep their teaching status.
Q: What is the student to instructor ratio?
A:The student to instructor ratio is 4:1. We like to keep the classes small to insure that each person receives
individualized instruction.
Q: How many locations do you have?
A: There are five locations within the United States:
Orlando’s Bay Hill Club, site of the PGA Tour’s Bay
Hill Invitational, is a renowned 18-hole course with an additional 9-hole “Charger” course. Rated in their
“Top 100” by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine, Bay Hill Club offers guests an exclusive, private club
atmosphere just minutes from Central Florida’s plentiful entertainment attractions.
The Saddlebrook resort in Tampa features two championship 18-hole
courses designed by Arnold Palmer in a 480-acre resort setting. An exceptional executive retreat, the
Saddlebrook Resort welcomes corporate groups and individual guests.
The Oasis, located 75 miles northwest of Las Vegas, was named by Golf
Digest to their 1995 Top Five Resort Golf Courses in North America. With expansive training areas and 45
outstanding Arnold Palmer-designated golf holes, the Oasis combines aesthetics, memorability and
playability in a dramatic desert setting.
Empire Lakes, just 37 miles east of Los Angeles, is an Arnold
Palmer designed Course and is the Inland Empire’s newest and most prestigious facility. The 6,923-yard,
18-hole championship public facility offers all levels of players a “pure golf” experience by focusing

Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, located just outside of
New Orleans offers an 18-hole championship course designed by Arnold Palmer. Casino Magic a premiere
destination resort offers a deluxe practice facility which takes golf training facilities to a new
level.
Q: How often are your classes?
A: All facilities are open year round, with classes held each week.
Q: Is their on course instruction?
A: If you enroll in either of the Challenger (3 Day) or Champion (5 Day) programs on
course instruction is included on the third and fifth days.
Q: Do you offer private lessons?
A: We offer one hour, series of five one hour, and one and a half hour video analysis
lessons. We also conduct group clinics and junior camps.
Q: Are you able to accommodate corporate
groups?
A: Most Definitely, the beauty of our curriculum is the flexibility in modifying our
instruction to fit into the timely schedules of corporate executives.
Q: Is Arnold Palmer on site or does he just lend his name to the facility?
A: In the winter months November through March, Arnold Palmer resides at his Bay
Hill Club in Orlando, FL. When he is in town during those months he conducts his business and plays each
day at Bay Hill. At all the other academies, Mr. Palmer usually makes one appearance a year at each
facility.
Q: Is there any time set aside to talk about the rules and
etiquette of the game?
A: Absolutely, because one of the biggest reasons Arnold Palmer started the golf
academy was to uphold the traditions of the game. This is achieved by incorporating the rules and
etiquette’s of the game into our three and five day programs while instruction is being done on the golf
course.
Q: I am just starting the game, will I be able to attend your academy?
A: At least 30-40% of our students are people who are beginners or who have been
playing less than three years. Going to our academy is the best thing you could ever do if you are a
beginning golfer because we teach basic fundamentals in order to keep the game simpler and as a result
more enjoyable.
Q: I have a single digit handicap, do you have programs for me?
A: Again, the beauty of our curriculum is the flexibility and basics of what we teach.
We can have a beginner, intermediate, and single digit handicap player all going through the same program
at the same time. We tailor the instruction to each individual according to his or her capabilities.
Q: I have heard a lot about the helpfulness of
video equipment during the learning process, do you use this in your
teaching?
A: At all Arnold Palmer Golf Academies we apply video equipment by taping each
individual before and after, voice over, make comparisons to tour professionals, draw graphics, and edit in
drills and exercises in order to communicate effectively what you the individual needs to do to steadily
improve. Each student leaves with their own tape which will then serve as a great reference tool down the
road.
Q: I am interested in buying some clubs, do you offer club-fitting to your
students?
A: The Palmer Golf Equipment Company has designed a quick fit system for club-
fitting our students. All of our programs, i.e., 1/2, 3, and 5 day, can easily accommodate a club-fitting to
each individual if the instructor observes inadequate equipment being used or if a student shows an interest
in knowing their club specifications.
