• McPeak/Reno over Kirby/Schaefer, 15-8
  Olympians Holly McPeak and Nancy Reno advanced to the finals with a 15-8 win over Karolyn Kirby and Christine Schaefer in the opening women's match. McPeak and Reno avenged an earlier loss to Kirby and Schaefer in Fairfax on February 3rd. With the 42-minute match being tied twice early, McPeak and Reno increased a 4-3 advantage to a 12-4 lead. Kirby and Schaefer, who defeated McPeak and Reno 15-13 in Fairfax, cut the lead to 14-8 before Schaefer's miss gave McPeak and Reno the win. McPeak and Reno await the winner of the Masakayan/Rock vs. Fontana Harris/Hanley match.

• Angela Rock and Liz Masakayan edge Barbra Fontana Harris/Linda Hanley, 16-14
  Liz Masakayan and Angela Rock, who competed on the women's indoor team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, led 6-1 before Fontana Harris and Hanley assumed an 11-10 lead and then 14-11 in the 56-minute, 70 sideout match. Masakayan and Rock then scored the last five points to edge Fontana Harris/Hanley 16-14. Masakayan and Rock, who scored a 16-14 win over Fontana Harris and Hanley in Fairfax on February 3rd, will be competing in their second Evian Indoor final. The pair dropped a 15-4 decision to Karolyn Kirby and Christine Schaefer in the Fairfax championship match.

• Holly McPeak/Nancy Reno clip Angela Rock/Liz Masakayan, 15-13
  Olympians Holly McPeak and Nancy Reno shared the biggest "pay day" in women's pro beach history Saturday by capturing the Evian Indoor Pro Beach Volleyball Championships before a record crowd of 12,034 at Madison Square Garden. McPeak and Reno, who were named January 26 by USA Volleyball as the United States' top team for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games' women's beach volleyball team, defeated Liz Masakayan and Angela Rock 15-13 to split the $31,500 first-place prize. McPeak and Reno withstood a late charge by Masakayan and Rock to capture the 57-minute, 78 side-out match. In a match that had seven ties and three lead changes, McPeak and Reno rallied from a 4-1 deficit early to take the lead for the first time at 8-7. Masakayan and Rock tied the match at 8-8, 9-9, 10-10 and 11-11 before gaining a 12-11 advantage. McPeak and Reno scored four of the next six points to capture their ninth Evian Pro Beach Volleyball title.
