HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) T.R. Reed scored 22 points and hit two key free throws as Birmingham-Southern held on for a 68-65 victory over High Point Monday night. High Point (8-14) trailed 59-39 with 13:06 left, but scored 26 straight points to take a 65-59 lead. Doug Alves capped the run with a 3-pointer with 3:01 left. Reed hit two free throws with 28 seconds left to put Birmingham-Southern (11-1) up 65-64, then Rashard Willie hit two more with 17 seconds after High Points Dustin Van Weerdhuizen was called for a charge. Birmingham-Southern won despite going scoreless for a 10:37 span and making just eight of 23 shots in the second half. Van Weerdhuizen finished with 21 points and six rebounds. Brent Halsch added 12 points and Joe Knight 10 points.
