ALTENMARKT-ZAUCHENSEE, Austria (AP) Michaela Dorfmeister won the final women's World Cup super-G race Thursday, but Hilde Gerg had already snatched the season title.

Dorfmeister, who on Wednesday won the final downhill and the overall title, was first out of the start gates and put in a clean run on a course that was softening because of warm weather.

She crossed in 1 minute, 27.87 seconds to the thunderous cheers of a large home crowd.

As the final racer finished, Dorfmeister leapt in the air and did a somersault to celebrate two perfect days to wind up her season.

Another Austrian, Alexandra Meissnitzer, was runner-up in 1:28.53.

Gerg, untroubled by any pressure to win, coasted down the hill in 1:29.37, 0.66 seconds behind Dorfmeister, to settle for third.

Her German teammate Martina Ertl was a creditable fourth in 1:29.48, after starting last.

Austria's Stefanie Schuster made an acrobatic recovery at high speed to place fifth in her last race. Schuster, who had announced her retirement, gave a sweeping bow to her fans.

Meissnitzer secured second overall in the season standings and Dorfmeister improved from eighth to third with her second World Cup victory in two days.

Janica Kostelic, the Winter Olympics super-G silver medalist, was heading for a fast time until she lost control of her skis in the middle section and cartwheeled. She stood up, but appeared to have injured her right hand.

Kostelic has her favorite disciplines, slalom and giant slalom, at the weekend.
