WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) Olympian Amy Peterson, competing in the United States for the final time, was second in the 500 and 1,000 meters Friday night as the U.S. women's team qualified for the final of the World Short Track Speedskating Team Championships. "It's been a long road, but it's definitely time," said Peterson, the four-time Olympian who is retiring after this season. The U.S. men failed to advance. Rusty Smith won the 500 and 1,000, but the team finished four points behind Italy and Canada. The U.S. team was without Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno. South Korea and China advanced both their men's and women's teams by winning their four-team brackets. The United States and Canada advanced in the women's skate-off, and Italy and Canada took final two men's spot in Saturday's final.
