JERSEY CITY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Jack Warner successfully fended off a challenge from Mexicos Edgar Codesal, 36-2, to retain control of the CONCACAF presidency.

The election battle, played out this week in South Florida among power brokers far and wide, was largely viewed as a referendum on both Warner and CONCACAFs support of incumbent FIFA president Joseph Blatter.

Codesal, who was initially barred from seeking the office because he is a paid employee of CONCACAF, garnered only two votes -- Mexico and El Salvador
