Sorensen, Loux Take International League Weekly Honors

DUBLIN, Ohio (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bisons second baseman Zach Sorensen and Toledo Mud Hens righthander Shane Loux were named the International League's Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Sorensen hit .538 (7-for-13) with a home run and seven RBI in three games during the week. He had a triple, scored three runs and posted a .923 slugging percentage and a .538 on-base percentage.

The 25-year-old singled, tripled, homered and knocked in five runs in an 8-2 victory over Syracuse on Friday.

Loux, who won the award for the second time in three weeks, tossed a shutout as the Mud Hens squeaked by Richmond, 1-0, on Friday. He allowed just four hits, struck out seven and walked one.

Loux, 22, who has tossed a shutout in three of his last four starts, had just two shutouts in his first 5 1/2 seasons. He is 9-7 with a 4.69 ERA this season.
