COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Ticker) -- Sacramento River Cats catcher Cody McKay and Omaha Royals righthander Brett Laxton on Monday were named Pacific Coast League Player and Pitcher of the Week.

McKay hit .667 (10-for-15) with a home run and a pair of RBI in four games last week. He had two doubles, scored three times and compiled a .688 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

The 26-year-old had multiple hits in each game during the week and ended the stretch with an RBI single and a solo home run in a 9-4 defeat at Fresno on Sunday.

Laxton allowed an unearned run and one hit over seven innings to get the win as the Royals slipped past Colorado Springs, 3-1, on Sunday. He struck out six batters, issued two walks and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up a base hit.

Laxton, 28, was 6-8 with a 4.49 ERA this season. He came over to the Royals' organization in the trade that sent Jeremy Giambi to Oakland back in 2000.
