MARIETTA, Georgia (Ticker) -- Carolina Mudcats outfielder Matt Holliday and Jacksonville Suns righthander Ben Simon on Friday were named Southern League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Holliday won the award for the second time in four weeks after hitting .321 (9-for-28) with two homers and 10 RBI. He scored seven runs while posting a .536 slugging percentage and a 406 on-base percentage.

Holliday highlighted his week by going 3-for-3 with a homer, three runs and a season-high six RBI in Sunday's rain-shortened 18-5 win over Birmingham on Sunday.
