1B Perry, LHP Anderson Win Texas League Weekly Honors

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Ticker) -- Wichita Wranglers first baseman Chan Perry and San Antonio Missions lefthander Craig Anderson on Monday were named Texas League Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Perry hit .387 (12-for-31) with a pair of home runs and 14 RBI in seven games. He also scored five runs and had a .387 on-base percentage and .613 slugging percentage.

The 29-year-old capped his week Sunday by going 5-for-6 with a grand slam and a season-high six RBI in a 17-8 victory over El Paso.

Anderson, who won the award for the second time in three weeks, yielded just six hits and three walks over eight scoreless innings in Wednesday's 5-0 blanking of Shreveport.

The 21-year-old Australian has not allowed more than two earned runs in his last eight starts. He is 6-4 with a 2.67 ERA after leading the California League last season with a 2.26 ERA.
