TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) Scottsdale police have issued an arrest warrant for Arizona senior wide receiver Bobby Wade after he failed to appear for a court date.

Wade, 21, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct in an early-morning fight on June 23 in the parking lot of a Scottsdale nightclub, according to police.

He did not show up for his scheduled July 5 court appearance and an arrest warrant was issued last Thursday.

"This is the first I've heard of this and I expect that we'll be talking with Bobby very soon to find out exactly what happened," said Wildcats coach John Mackovic, who was attending the Pacific-10 Conference coaches meetings in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

A police report obtained by The Arizona Daily Star shows that a 9 mm handgun with a loaded 15-round magazine was later recovered from Wade's vehicle at the scene.

A records check indicated Wade was the owner of the weapon and police impounded it.

Wade, a Phoenix native, has led Arizona in receiving the past two seasons. Last year, he caught 62 passes for 882 yards and eight touchdowns - all career highs.

On Sunday, three other Wildcats - cornerback Danny Perry, defensive end Andre Torrey and tight end Javier Martinez - were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting outside a Tucson bar.
