DUBLIN, Ohio (Ticker) -- Wendy Ward recorded an LPGA 54-hole record with a 21-under-par 195 total at the Wendy's Championship for Children last year. On Friday, she returns to defend her title which is now being held at Tartan Fields Country Club.

This tournament was played at New Albany Country Club in New Albany, Ohio from 1999-2001.

Ward's three-day total last year broke the previous 54-hole winning score of 19-under shared by Annika Sorenstam and Pat Bradley. It was Ward's third career victory and first since 1998.

"It's unfortunate I don't get to see the same course I played so well on," Ward said. "But I think Tartan is great, to be able to go out and do the same thing would be great. If you can hit in there tight, the greens are in great shape, hopefully you're going to make a lot of birdies."

South Korean Gloria Park stole the spotlight from Sorenstam in last week's Sybase Big Apple Classic. Park sank a seven-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a sudden death playoff to beat countrywoman Hee-Won Han for her second career victory.

Han, the Rolex Rookie of the Year in 2001, matched the best result of her brief career. She also finished second at the Long Drugs Challenge earlier this year.

Sorenstam had a chance to make it a three-way playoff, but parred the final hole and settled for third.

Sorenstam is not entered in this event with the Women's British Open scheduled next weekend.

The par-72 Tartan Fields Country Club is a 6,517-yard layout.

First prize is $150,000.
