MONTGOMERY, W.Va. (AP) Drew Catlett resigned Thursday to pursue a Division I job after less than three months as West Virginia Tech's basketball coach.

Catlett took his first head coaching job in May with the Division II Golden Bears. He was the interim coach at West Virginia for the final five games last season after his uncle, Gale Catlett, retired on Feb. 14.

Tech must now look for its third coach in the past year. Steve Tucker resigned midway through his first season. Tech finished 7-19 last season after going 18-9 the previous one.

Crew Catlett already has talked with Georgia State coach Lefty Driesell about a vacant assistant's job, but no offer has been made, a Georgia State spokesman said.
