Hurricanes Re-Sign D Wallin To Two-Year Deal

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Defenseman Niclas Wallin, who scored two overtime goals in the Stanley Cup playoffs, on Friday re-signed with the Carolina Hurricanes for two more seasons.

Financial terms were not disclosed for Wallin, who was a restricted free agent.

Wallin, 27, played in 52 games last season, registering a goal and an assist. But he emerged in the postseason, playing in all 23 games as the Hurricanes advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time.

Wallin tallied the winning goal in overtime in Game Four against Montreal in the Eastern Conference semifinals. He also scored the winner in overtime in Game Two of the East finals against Toronto. He also added one assist in the postseason.
