CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Calgary Flames on Saturday re-signed veteran defenseman Denis Gauthier.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gauthier set career highs of five goals, eight assists and 91 penalty minutes in 66 games for the Flames last season. He led the team with four shorthanded points and was second with 112 hits.

A 1995 first-round pick, Gauthier has collected 11 goals and 19 assists and 303 penalty minutes in 232 career games.
