Phillips, Loux Take International League Honors

DUBLIN, Ohio (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bisons shortstop Brandon Phillips and Toledo Mud Hens righthander Shane Loux on Monday were named International League Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Phillips, who was sent to the Indians organization in the deal that moved Bartolo Colon to Montreal, hit .484 (15-for-31) with three doubles, two homers and six RBI in eight games. Phillips scored eight runs and posted a .774 slugging percentage to go along with a .500 on-base percentage.

He has hit safely in eight consecutive games and opened his week with eight hits in his first 12 at-bats. Since joining Buffalo, Phillips is hitting .287 with five homers and 15 RBI.

Loux earned his third Pitcher of the Week award after pitching his fifth complete game of the season in a 5-1 win over Charlotte on Thursday. Loux allowed just an unearned run and four hits, striking out three and walking one, for his second straight win and sixth in seven starts.

He improved to 11-8 with a 4.44 ERA in 21 appearances with Toledo this season.
