NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Columbus Crew forward Jeff Cunningham, who had a goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over the MetroStars on July 31, on Monday was named Major League Soccer Player of the Week.

Prior to the MLS All-Star weekend, Cunningham scored a goal and set up the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over the MetroStars on July 31.

It was the second weekly award of his career, the first coming in Week Eight of 1999.

Cunningham is ranked eighth in the league with 10 goals and four assists. With seven matches to play, he is two goals shy of matching his season-high of 12 from 1999.
