Jester, Kozlowski Win Texas League Weekly Honors

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Ticker) -- Shreveport Swamp Dragons second baseman Joe Jester and Tulsa Drillers lefthander Ben Kozlowski on Monday were named the Texas League Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Jester hit .429 (9-for-21) with three homers and eight RBI in six games last week. He had a pair of doubles, scored five runs and had a .952 slugging percentage to go along with a .478 on-base percentage.

Jester homered in three consecutive games and highlighted his week with a three-run homer during a six-run first inning in a 7-4 victory over Tulsa on Tuesday.

Kozlowski went 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA in two starts last week. He yielded two runs -- one earned -- and six hits while striking out 10 and walking three in 14 innings of work.

Kozlowski pitched seven effective innings in a 9-3 win over the Swamp Dragons on Monday. He came back with seven scoreless innings and only one hit versus Wichita on Sunday but did not figure in the decision.

The 21-year-old Kozlowski improved to 1-1 with a 2.52 ERA in four appearances for Tulsa.
