ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Tuesday signed defenseman Ruslan Salei to a two-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A native of Belarus, Salei was one of just three Ducks to appear in all 82 games last season and ranked second on the team with 191 hits. He had four goals and seven assists along with 97 penalty minutes.

The 27-year-old Salei played for Belarus in the 2002 Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City.

The ninth overall pick in the 1996 draft, Salei has played six years for Anaheim and is the club's all-time leader among defenseman in games played with 373 and third in penalty minutes with 433. He has 17 goals and 42 assists.
