MESSINA, Sicily (AP) The United States made four errors that led to three unearned runs and lost to China 4-3 Tuesday night in the World University Baseball Championship. The United States (2-1), tied for first in Pool A with Italy and China, fell behind 2-0 in the second. Ling Feng Sun beat out a two-out chopper to third baseman Aaron Hill as a run scored, and first baseman Michael Aubrey's throw to third got by Eric Patterson for a run-scoring error. Aubrey homered for the third straight game, a tying two-run drive in the third, but the Americans fell behind by allowing unearned runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Hill had an inside-the-park homer in the seventh. Loser Kyle Bakker allowed four runs - one earned - and 11 hits in 6 1-3 innings. Richie Weeks, Hill and Aubrey each had three hits for the United States. Winner Jian Wang Zhang allowed three runs and six hits and struck out six in 6 1-3 innings. Yubing Jia went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
