UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) Restricted free agent Mark Parrish and the New York Islanders agreed to terms of a two-year contract Tuesday, avoiding arbitration. The Islanders also came to terms with three-time Division I All-America Jeff Hamilton, an undrafted free agent center. No other details of the agreements were released. Parrish, who was selected for the NHL All-Star game, posted career-highs with 30 goals, 30 assists and 60 points in 78 games. In the playoffs, the right wing had two goals and three points in seven games against Toronto. The 25-year-old started the 2001-02 season with a four-game goal-scoring streak, getting at least two goals in each game including his first Islanders' hat trick on Oct. 11, in a 6-4 victory in New Jersey. Parrish will be entering his third season with the Islanders after playing two with the Florida Panthers. Hamilton, 24, who played at Yale and is its all-time leading scorer, spent last season with Karpat of the Finnish League, finishing with 18 goals and 33 points in 39 games. He led the team in goals and was third in points.
