Lightning Re-Sign D Dan Boyle

TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Dan Boyle to a one-year contract, avoiding arbitration.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Boyle, who was slated to have an arbitration hearing on Friday, enters his first full season with the Lightning after being acquired from Florida in January. The 26-year-old had five goals and 20 points in 41 games with Tampa Bay after posting three goals and six points with the Panthers.

Undrafted after being a two-time NCAA West First-Team All-American at Miami (Ohio) University, Boyle has 15 goals and 59 points in 170 career NHL games, collecting 77 penalty minutes.
