MESSINA, Sicily (AP) Mark Jurich hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs Wednesday as the United States routed South Korea 16-2 in the Americans' final first-round game at the World University Baseball Championship. Eric Patterson, Michael Aubrey, Aaron Hill and Sam Fuld had three hits each for the United States (3-1), which next plays Friday in the quarterfinals. Winner Philip Humber allowed three hits in six shutout innings, striking out eight. Abe Alvarez, Huston Street and Bob Zimmerman combined on three-hit relief. Hill hit a two-run homer in the second off loser Jung Jae-bok, who allowed three runs and five hits in 2 1-3 innings. Landon Powell added an RBI single in the third. Fuld hit a two-run single in three-run seventh as the Americans increased the lead to 8-0. Jurich hit a three-run homer in the eighth off Kim Ki-sik. In Wednesday's other day game, the Czech Republic beat France 4-0 at Reggio Calabria, Italy.
