UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) Birgit Prinz and Danielle Fotopoulos scored second-half goals as the Carolina Courage beat the New York Power 2-1 on Wednesday night. Carolina (12-5-3), tied for first place in the WUSA with one game remaining in the regular season, secured homefield advantage for the playoff semifinals Aug. 17. Prinz opened the scoring in the 66th minute, heading the ball into the goal off Fotopoulos' crossing pass. Fotopoulos added her 11th goal in the 81st minute. Tiffeny Milbrett scored on a penalty kick for New York (3-16-1) in the 89th minute. The match was part of a doubleheader at Mitchel Field with the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal between Major League Soccer's New York-New Jersey MetroStars and Columbus Crew.
