CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Blackhawks, who made the playoffs for the first time in five years, re-signed left wing Kyle Calder on Thursday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Calder had 17 goals and 36 assists in 81 games last season as Chicago finished fifth in the Western Conference for its first postseason appearance since 1997. He had two of the team's five goals in the Western Conference quarterfinals, when the St. Louis Blues defeated the Blackhawks in five games.

The 23-year-old Calder was selected by the Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 1997 draft and has 23 goals and 47 assists in 132 games with them.

Chicago re-signed defenseman Boris Mironov to a one-year contract last week, but lost right wing Tony Amonte to the Phoenix Coyotes in July.
