SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- Dr. S. Robert Contiguglia on Friday was re-elected to a second four-year term as president of the United States Soccer Federation at the organization's annual general meeting. Contiguglia ran unopposed for the office after former president Alan Rothenberg declined to run again. The 60-year-old Contiguglia first was introduced to the game as a player in his native New York and later became a youth soccer coach in Colorado. From 1990-96, he served as chairman of the United States Youth Soccer Association. During Contiguglia's first four-year tenure, the U.S. hosted and won the 1999 Women's World Cup and saw the men's national team reach the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan.
