ESPOO, Finland (AP) Russian qualifier Svetlana Kuznetsova beat third-seeded Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Nordic Light Open.

The 17-year-old Kuznetsova, ranked No. 123, will face fifth-seeded Martina Sucha of Slovakia, a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Gala Leon Garcia of Spain.

Denisa Chladkova of the Czech Republic beat Asa Svensson of Sweden 6-3, 6-2 to reach the semifinals, and Austria's Patricia Wartusch defeated Hungary's Petra Mandula 6-4, 6-1.
