TURNBERRY, Scotland (AP) Annika Sorenstam's performance at the Women's British Open cost her more than a shot at another major. Sorenstam followed an opening 73 with a 5-over 77 Friday, missing the cut for the first time in 75 LPGA tournaments. Sorenstam has won six tournaments this year, including one major - the Nabisco Championship. She had made every cut dating to the U.S. Women's Open in June 1999. "I had two unplayables and a triple in two days and, if you have that, you can't really score here," Sorenstam said. "It's a bummer because I came here feeling good about my game, and I had prepared exactly the way I wanted." Candie Kung and Carin Koch share the lead after two rounds at 8-under 136. Karrie Webb was one stroke off the lead after a 71 on Friday. Instead of competing for another major championship, Sorenstam is headed home to Sweden, where she will play in front of her home fans in the Compaq Cup at Helsingborg next week. "I am disappointed. I just didn't play well at all," Sorenstam said. "But it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Obviously, I don't feel good at this time, but I've got to move on." Sorenstam had prepared for Turnberry by practicing on three similar links courses nearby. But her rounds were a mixture of bogeys and birdies, and there clearly was something wrong with her game. Sorenstam collected four birdies, but a triple bogey at the fifth and a double bogey at the 16th, along with four more bogeys, cost her nine shots. "Normally I'm a straight hitter, but I just haven't hit it very straight this week," she said. "And when you hit it in the tough stuff, it is very difficult to chip it out."
