WASHINGTON (AP) Becky Hammon matched her career high with 22 points as the New York Liberty clinched the Eastern Conference title with a 74-66 victory over Washington on Friday night.

Crystal Robinson added 15 points to help the Liberty (18-12) take a two-game lead over Washington and Charlotte (both 16-14) with two games remaining for all three teams.

New York won the season series with Washington 2-1, and also holds the tiebreaker over Charlotte, which clinched a playoff spot Friday night with a victory at Minnesota.

Hammon was 5-of-6 from 3-point range, with her final 3-pointer giving the Liberty a 61-47 lead with 5:30 left.

Chamique Holdsclaw had 23 points for the Mystics. Washington, which secured a playoff spot Thursday night with a victory at New York, has lost eight of its last nine games.

Sting 68, Lynx 62

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Former Minnesota prep star Kelly Miller scored 15 points as the Charlotte beat Minnesota to clinch a playoff spot.

Allison Feaster added 13 points to help Charlotte (16-14) move into a second-place tie with Washington.

Katie Smith scored 24 points for the Lynx (10-20).

Sol 65, Rockers 59

MIAMI (AP) Sherri Sam scored 18 points and Betty Lennox sparked a second-half rally as Miami improved its playoff chances with a victory over Cleveland.

Miami (14-16) moved into a tie with Orlando and Indiana for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Sol, who will play at Indiana on Sunday night close the regular season at home against Detroit on Tuesday night, hold the tiebreaker over both Orlando and Indiana.

Penny Taylor scored 11 points for Cleveland (10-20).

Shock 55, Fever 54

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) Swin Cash and Edwina Brown each scored 10 points to lead Detroit past Indiana.

Indiana (14-16) dropped into a tie with Orlando and Miami for the final playoff spot in Eastern Conference.

Detroit (9-21) won for the third time in four games and improved to 9-11 under former Pistons player Bill Laimbeer, who replaced Greg Williams as coach June 19.

Tamika Catchings led Indiana with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
