AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) Swin Cash and Edwina Brown each scored 10 points to lead the Detroit Shock to a 55-54 victory over the Indiana Fever on Friday night.

The loss dropped Indiana (14-16) into a tie with Orlando and Miami for the fourth and final playoff berth from the WNBA's Eastern Conference. All three teams have two games left, with Miami holding the tiebreaker over Indiana and Orlando.

The Fever, who have the tiebreaker against Orlando, will face Miami at home Sunday night and finish the regular season Tuesday night at Cleveland.

"I think we are still in it, but we have to win Sunday and we have to win Tuesday," Indiana coach Nell Fortner said. "It just puts more pressure on us."

Detroit (9-21) won for the third time in four games and improved to 9-11 under Bill Laimbeer, who replaced Greg Williams as coach on June 19.

Laimbeer didn't play any of his starters in the final 10 minutes, and the Shock scored only 19 points in the second half.

"I'm not worried about Indiana's playoff position," Laimbeer said. "I'm worried about my team, and finding out how well these ladies can play in pressure situations. I know what my starters can do. I've seen them all year long."

Tamika Catchings led Indiana with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but missed two shots in the final minute with the Fever trailing by a point. Nikki McCray added 10 points for Indiana.

"It came down to the end, and we had a chance to win, but we just couldn't get fouls called," Catchings said. "We just have to go out and win these next two games."

Brown scored all 10 of her points in the first half as Detroit took a 36-33 lead.

"We've been practicing hard as a unit everyday against the first team," Brown said. "You always want to be in the game, so this was fun."

The Shock broke the game's final tie when Dominique Canty scored three points in a 5-0 run that made it 48-43.

Two 3-pointers by Catchings kept the Fever close, but baskets by reserves Kelly Santos and Lenae Williams put the Shock up by six points with two minutes to play.

A basket by Jackie Moore and a 3-pointer by Niele Ivey brought Indiana within 55-54 with 1:12 left, and Indiana had a chance to win after a Detroit miss.

Catchings missed a shot, but Williams missed two free throws with 12 seconds left. Catchings drove to the basket, but couldn't score in traffic.

Williams missed two more free throws, but Santos grabbed the rebound as time expired.

Notes: The game matched two of the leading rookie of the year candidates in Cash and Catchings. The pair spent most of the game guarding each other. ... The crowd of 7,524 at The Palace at Auburn Hills couldn't help the Shock from finishing their fifth season with the league's worst home attendance. ... Indiana's Bridget Pettis left the game early in the second half after being poked in the eye.
