DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Mind For Gold edged Elegance by a neck Friday in the $61,000 feature race for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Mind For Gold, ridden by Garrett Gomez, ran a mile in 1:37.110, and paid $11.40, $6 and $3.40 for her sixth victory in 24 races.

The victory was the 1,997th of Gomez's career.

Elegance returned $9 and $4.20, and Run Rate, the 2-1 favorite, paid $2.80 to show in the seven-horse field.
