DALLAS (AP) Jason Kreis scored the tiebreaking goal in the 89th minute, and Ronnie O'Brien added a goal a minute later as the Dallas Burn beat the Chicago Fire 3-1 Saturday night.

The Burn (9-5-7) ended Zach Thornton's 262-minute shutout streak and beat the Fire (8-9-4) for the sixth straight time.

Dallas' Oscar Pareja scored his first goal of the season 25 minutes in with a 25-yard shot from just in front of the goal.

Chicago's Hristo Stoitchkov tied it with a 25-yard shot from the left side of the goal in the 64th minute.

United 0, Wizards 0

WASHINGTON (AP)- Kansas City's Tony Meola stopped a retaken penalty kick in the 90th minute to extend D.C. United's scoreless streak to 531 minutes.

The United (6-11-4) has not scored a goal since Bobby Convey scored in the 39th minute against the Columbus Crew on July 13th.

In the 88th minute, D.C. midfielder Ivan McKinley was taken down by Carey Talley in the box away from the ball, and Marco Etcheverry scored what appeared to be the game-winner in the 90th minute.

However, it was ruled by referee Noel Kenny that Convey was in the box early. Etcheverry was forced to retake the kick, and Meola made the save to become the first MLS player to stop two penalty kicks in a game.

Kansas City (8-6-8) is unbeaten in three games.
