FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) Suzy Favor Hamilton ran the fastest mile in the world this year by a woman, winning the Falmouth Mile in 4 minutes, 25.27 seconds Saturday.

Jenelle Deatherage was second in 4:31.58, and Mary Jayne Harrelson followed in 4:32.68.

Canada's Kevin Sullivan won the men's race in 3:59.26, with Leonard Mucheru second in 4:00.98.
