GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) Defensive end Jevon Langford, a six-year veteran, was released Monday by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Langford had been fined for missing the first few days of training camp after telling the team he would be absent for personal reasons. Team officials did not say why Langford missed the practices.

Langford, who was a fourth-round draft pick in 1996, had 14 starts in 66 games with the Bengals. He played in only three games last season and spent the other 13 on the inactive list.

He had been released in the team's final roster cuts last season, but was re-signed to a three-year contract in September when defensive end John Copeland was injured.
