Sabres Sign Forwards Botterill And Methot

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Sabres have signed forwards Jason Botterill and Francois Methot.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Botterill, 26, spent most of last season with the St. John Flames of the American Hockey League, notching 21 goals and 42 points in 71 games. He also appeared in four games with the Calgary Flames, scoring one goal.

Botterill was taken 20th overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by Dallas. He has two goals and six points in 52 career NHL games with Dallas, Atlanta and Calgary.

Methot, 24, had 17 goals and 34 points in 59 games with Rochester of the AHL last season.

He was Buffalo's third-round selection, the 54th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
