Yount Hits Sacrifice Fly In Exhibition Game

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) Hall of Famer Robin Yount hit a sacrifice fly Monday night for the Arizona Diamondbacks in a 7-6 loss to their Class A South Bend affiliate.

Yount, a Diamondbacks coach, batted for designated hitter Erubiel Durazo in the fifth inning against the Midwest League team.

Yount, 46, stayed in the game and played catcher for two innings while Diamondbacks batting practice pitcher Tony Dello took the mound.

Byung-Hyun Kim gave up the deciding hit, an RBI single by Bryan Loeb in the eighth inning.

All of the Diamondbacks regulars were removed by the fifth inning.

Silver Hawk reliever Heath Heiberger earned the win.
