Wounded Warrior Project™ (WWP) exists to honor and empower wounded warriors who incurred service-connected injures on or after September 11, 2001. WWP’s purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured service members aid and assist each other; to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

WWP began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need. What started as a program to provide comfort items to wounded service members has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life.

Thousands of wounded warriors and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs designed to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

WWP is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs. Offering a variety of programs and services, WWP is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from the physical to the invisible wounds of war.

A Game of Honor docu-drama and web series will capture the personal stories of this unique group of men who are rivals on the football field and brothers in arms on the battlefield.

As the young men at Army and Navy endure a much different athletic experience than other Division I football players, A Game of Honor will capture the dedication, discipline and determination demanded of the cadets and midshipmen who are members of these storied football programs. A Game of Honor reveals their unique journey from summer training to the demands of an elite classroom education to the weekly preparations for the football field, all while training to serve their country in a time of war.

This rigorous passage culminates with the playing of the annual Army-Navy game this year from the nation's capital in Washington, D.C. Then on Wednesday, December 21 SHOWTIME will premiere the two-hour exclusive docu-drama revealing an unprecedented look at America's two oldest military academies.

The Army-Navy rivalry will enjoy its 112th edition this season when the Black Knights and Midshipmen tussle on Dec. 10 at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. Only 10 Division FBS rivalries have featured more games than the Army-Navy series.

This revered series began when Cadet Dennis Mahan Michie accepted a challenge from Naval Academy Midshipmen for a football game against the Cadets. That first contest was held on The Plain at West Point on Nov. 29, 1890. The more experienced Mids, who had been playing organized football since 1879, defeated the Cadets 24-0.

Historically played on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the game is now played on the second Saturday in December and is traditionally the last game of the season for both teams and, until the recent advent of conference championship games, it was the last regular-season game played in football.

The rivalry between Annapolis and West Point, while friendly, is intense. Even the mascots (the Navy Goat and Army Mule) have been known to play pranks on each other. The Cadets live and breathe the phrase "Beat Navy", while Midshipmen have the opposite dinned into them. Even the weight plates in the Navy weight room are stamped with the phrase "Beat Army".

In both 1944 and 1945, Army and Navy entered the game ranked No. 1 and No. 2. The 1945 game was labeled the "Game of the Century." Army defeated Navy team 32-13.

Eighty-three of the 111 Army-Navy games have been played within Philadelphia city limits. This year marks only the eighth time the Army-Navy Classic has been played outside Philadelphia annually since 1945. The 1983 game was played at the Rose Bowl, while the 1989, 1993, 1997 and 2001 confrontations took place at Giants Stadium. M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore played host to the classic in 2000 and 2007. This year's game is the first to be hosted by Washington, D.C.

Navy has dominated the series of late, winning 12 of the last 14 meetings, including nine in a row. Last season Navy won 31-17 behind Ricky Dobbs' two touchdown passes. Navy owns a 55-49-7 record all time against Army.
