CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Katie Douglas scored 15 points and WNBA-best Connecticut Sun closed with a 17-2 run and beat the league-worst Charlotte Sting 64-55 Tuesday.

The Sting led 53-47 with 5:57 left, before the Sun went on a 9-0 run to take the lead. Douglas scored the final five points of the spurt, including a driving, over-the-shoulder scoop shot with 2:59 left that put Connecticut ahead 56-53.

Dawn Staley's jumper with 2:35 left made it 56-55, but Lindsay Whalen responded with a baseline jumper on the next possession. Staley then missed a jumper and Taj McWilliams-Franklin hit two free throws on the next possession to seal the win.

McWilliams-Franklin finished with 13 points and Margo Dydek had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Sun (15-4), who won their third straight game despite 17 turnovers.
