UPDATE: And again. Uruguay wins, 2-1. He's good.
It took Luis Suarez 39 minutes to prove he was fit enough to face England, scoring in the first half to give Uruguay the 1-0 lead in a huge match in Group D.
Suarez sat Uruguay's first match against Costa Rica while recovering from knee surgery. His status for Thursday's match against England had been in question all week, as there was palpable concern regarding the star forward's fitness.
All that has been put the rest now. And even if he's not 100 percent, it doesn't much matter: he has made a difference in a match Uruguay needs to win if they're to have any chance of moving through to the knockout stage.
Both England and Uruguay are in desperate need of a win to stay alive in Group D, after both sides lost their openers. Italy and Costa Rica, the other squads in the group, will square off Friday at noon.
