With so much going on in WWE, we are back to break down where the company stands at the end of its latest week. After every set of WWE shows, we will determine the top 10 talents in the company based on a variety of factors including in-ring ability, mic work, overall brand prestige, championships, recent pushes and importance to current storylines. These rankings are voted on by a small panel helmed by your's truly, Brian Campbell.
We will also get into the best of the week in WWE, singling out the top superstar, match, move and promo over the last seven days. And last but not least, WWE will get a grade for the product they produced. So let's get to it.

WWE Power Rankings
Wrestler | Title / Brand | Last Week | Trend |
---|---|---|---|
1. Roman Reigns | Raw | 1 | -- |
"The Big Dog" has taken over the yard and called it his own. His microphone work continues to improve thanks to an edgier, almost heel-like tone. He's also producing one top-shelf match after another. This is the best work of his career. | |||
2. Samoa Joe | Raw (No. 1 contender) | 3 | |
There is currently no other heel on the roster who presents himself as believably nasty and tough as Joe. not only has his trash talk felt authentic, he's the rare Brock Lesnar opponent who presents an aura that suggests he might be able to win if the fight were real. | |||
3. AJ Styles | SmackDown | 2 | |
"The Phenomenal One" hasn't benefited from the best booking of late during his feud with United States champion Kevin Owens, but he still delivers like no other inside the ring and helped provide the largest pops of the night during the Money in the Bank match. | |||
4. Braun Strowman | Raw | NR | |
An emphatic return from elbow surgery has Strowman climbing the rankings at a rapid pace. Despite playing the heel role opposite Reigns, he continues to get the majority of babyface pops from the crowd, which is a credit to how well WWE has patiently built him. Everything he touches, he destroys. | |||
5. Kevin Owens | SmackDown (U.S. champion) | 5 | -- |
Owens hasn't been put into enough quality positions to shine of late despite holding the U.S. title. Hopefully that will change thanks to a battle royal designed to determine his next opponent at Battleground. With all of the attention given to the Jinder Mahal-Randy Orton feud, Owens-Styles has become an unfortunate afterthought. | |||
6. The Miz | Raw (intercontinental champion) | 4 | |
Bless his heart for being tasked to carry the load opposite LaVar Ball during Monday's obnoxious Raw segment. The fact that he was chosen encapsulates how valuable The Miz currently is to WWE as IC champion for his ability to dominate segments on the microphone. | |||
7. Jinder Mahal | SmackDown (WWE champion) | 8 | |
Despite his obvious limitations both inside and out of the ring, Mahal has continued to improve his presentation and confidence as WWE champion. The experiment continues to work, and it will be interesting to see whether Mahal can turn a train wreck like the Punjabi Prison and make it his own. | |||
8. Brock Lesnar | Raw | NR | |
"The Beast" is back, and he's selling in such a dedicated way that it has only elevated the stock of current foe Samoa Joe. That means great things for the Great Balls of Fire main event. Raw is simply better with Lesnar on it, and a happy and focused Brock can usually be counted on to be a great one inside the ring when the stakes are highest. | |||
9. Seth Rollins | Raw | 7 | |
No one is working harder to outshine his peers as an in-ring performer of late than Rollins, and his microphone work opposite Bray Wyatt has produced his best moments yet as a bayface. Rollins has yet to fully recapture the magic of 2015 when he was on top before his knee surgery, but he's getting closer. | |||
10. Baron Corbin | SmackDown (MITB briefcase holder) | 10 | |
Fresh off winning the Money in the Bank briefcase two weeks ago, Corbin circled the ring like a shark in the SmackDown main event. This week, he got revenge on Sami Zayn with a clean victory in the middle of the ring. It is obvious that WWE is trying to build up Corbin's credibility for an eventual title run, and some think it could come as soon as SummerSlam. |
Dropped out: Shinsuke Nakamura (6), Finn Balor (10) | Also receiving votes: Nakamura, The Usos
Best of the week in WWE
Wrestler -- Samoa Joe: This is becoming a trend. Joe is not only incredibly over and believable in his heel work, he has cemented himself as a true main event talent. This week's Coquina Clutch on Lesnar, which turned "The Beast" purple, was only topped by Joe's dialogue when he snuck up from behind on Paul Heyman. The idea of Joe as WWE universal champion suddenly feels like it could be in the cards.
Match -- Carmella wins the women's Money in the Bank rematch on SmackDown: In the end, it wasn't as great as it could have been considering the talent of those involved and the storyline reboot after the controversy one week ago. But for a Tuesday night on free TV, this was great, complete with enough fun spots along the way.
Move -- Lince Dorado's front-flip suicide dive on Raw: It's almost a sin that WWE has used Dorado so sparingly since last summer's Cruiserweight Classic tournament because the native of Puerto Rico has authored some of the division's best moves. His creative leap through the ropes and onto Neville outside the ring was breathtaking.

Promo -- Paul Heyman on Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe: In WWE, there are promos and then there are Paul Heyman promos. He delivered another gem on Monday during an interview with Charly Caruso with sweat dripping down his face. It was all intensity, all the time as Heyman once again showed why no one else is like him as he somehow worked in the line "Goodness, gracious, Great Balls of Fire" without coming across as cheesy.

Show -- Raw: The lows were just as drastic as the highs on Monday, but it's really hard to ignore how great those highs really were. There was simply too many of them thanks to Lesnar-Joe, Strowman-Reigns and Big Cass' continued heel turn on Enzo Amore. SmackDown was strong, complete with a 30-minute women's Money in the Bank match, but the week belonged to the red brand.
