    Analysis

    Cade Cunningham certainly did his part in Game 1’s defeat against the Magic, scoring 39 points, while chipping 5 boards and 4 assists. As a result we’re seeing an enormous combination line as Cade’s combo line is usually set between 37.5 to 39.5. While Cade is capable of scoring 35-40 on any given night, the Pistons are at their best when he’s getting his teammates involved. Tobias Harris was the only other Piston to score in double figures in Game 1, despite six Pistons averaging at least 10 PPG in the regular season.

    Analysis

    FanDuel. This is a low line for Logan Gilbert, who has been traditionally dominant on the strikeout front at T-Mobile Park in his career. He’s cleared this line in 24/32 full home starts over the last three seasons, including 3/4 this season. He’ll face an A’s offense that runs a 24% strikeout rate against righties, and should have a softer lineup today (backup catcher and no Brent Rooker).

    Analysis

    At +100 odds, this is at least worth 0.5u. Some of the projections may be overvaluing a small sample size of at bats from this A's lineup, even if they are missing some of their best strikeout targets. Same thing on Logan Gilbert, maybe an overvaluing of early season strikeout "struggles" yet he's hit 7+ Ks in 3/5 starts. His swinging strike rate has dipped to 12%, but his pitches are all grading out similar or better to last season in terms of Stuff+, and I think he's better than the numbers show. We get a premier strikeout talent at home and plus odds on the 7th strikeout. Not going to overthink it at this price.

    Analysis

    The Angels have won all five of Jose Soriano's starts, and he's allowed only one run. He's had 28 strikeouts between his last three starts, but best of all, the Angels have won by two runs or more in each game. Believe it or not, he was an underdog in his first three starts of the season. Beyond Soriano's great start to 2026, this bet is also about Eric Lauer starting for the Blue Jays, who have lost his last two starts. In his last start, he allowed seven runs in 5.1 innings to the Twins. Beautiful day expected in Anaheim with 9 mph winds blowing to right field. Angels to win.

    Analysis

    While the Blue Jays are going for the sweep, they are at the end of a long trip out west and likely without closer Jeff Hoffman and at least one key setup guy. Starter Eric Lauer is 1-3 with a 7.13 ERA. Seems like an awful spot for what is the better team. But we rather buried the lede: It's the unhittable Jose Soriano for the Halos. He absolutely can't continue at near this pace with one dang run allowed thus far but in a good spot to get a sixth victory already. Will have more on Soriano in the newsletter.
